Description

The Accelerator Down Jacket is an ultra-lightweight, high performing down jacket designed for versatile warmth in cold-weather. It'g going to be your new go-to choice when temps drop. The PertexĀ® Quantum ripstop nylon shell keeps the wind out and holds 4oz of RDS certified 850 fill-power HyperDryā„¢ Down for lightweight windproof warmth in dry conditions. DWR coating and water expanding thread act as the first defense against precipitation, while the HyperDryā„¢ Down prevents internal moisture buildup. Synthetic Insulation Mapping in high moisture areas keeps you warm while you are working hard. An ergonomic articulated fit reduces weight and volume, making it warmer and even more enticing to throw in your pack for a ā€˜just in caseā€™ moment. Hem and hood drawcords prevent any chance of updraft - keeping you incredibly toasty.Ā

Ā

Itā€™s athletic fit is designed to fit perfectly over a base layer (and potentially a whisper thin mid layer). This takes advantage of downā€™s insulating properties by reducing dead space between your body and the down. If you are looking to layer more than this underneath, we recommend sizing up.

Great expedition jacket

I just climbed Kili and this jacket was wonderful. Very wam, very light and easy to pack away.

Brilliant!

Outstanding performance. The design is superb. I can't get over how light and free it feels. I agree with all points made by Himali Fan in the review below, so no need to repeat. I tested this jacket above the tree line in the White Mountains of New Hampshire last weekend. The temperature was about 5 degrees Fahrenheit and wind gusts were between 50 and 70 mph (making for a much colder 'real feel)'. I only had a midweight base layer under this jacket and I felt none of the wind or freezing cold temperatures around me. It's like wearing a warm, fluffy cloud. Himali hit a home run with this one.

I'm not quite 5'10" and about 155 pounds. The medium is a perfect fit for me.

Great Jacket!

The fit and construction of this jacket is great! I like the packable feature, whether it's putting it away part way through a hike or packing for a work trip. Price is about what you would expect for an 850 down, especially treated.

Fit, function and look are all great. Emily from Himali customer service was also very responsive answering questions.

Excellent jacket with professional features.

This is an excellent jacket that is purpose built for professional use. I purchased it for mountain Search and Rescue use in Colorado. First, it's 850 Fill which is hard to find. Second, the water resistance is great. I've worn it in heavy sleety rain without a shell and it stayed dry. This is crazy for a puffy. Third, the hood is awesome. The drawstring pulls it tight around your head and face so it keeps the wind out and the hood turns with your head rather than your head turning inside the hood and blocking your vision. I can also wear my climbing helmet over the hood. Fourth, the extra little features like fleece where the jacket rubs my chin and mouth just shows they designed this jacket for legitimate use. Fifth, the jacket is thin enough that its easy to fit under and external shell layer. Finally, it packs nice and small in the attached pouch so you can stash it in you pack until you need it.
