He also has over 200 summits of Rainier, and has worked on product design with legacy mountaineering brands Mountain Hardware & First Ascent before HIMALI.
HIMALI CoFounder Tendi Sherpa is an IFMGA guide with 19 summits of Everest, and 30+ years of Himalayan climbing experience. He grew up in a remote village of Nepal, and went to school at a Buddhist Monastery training to become a monk until the age of 13.

We take action to uplift our global community.
5% of our net proceeds are invested into the Himalayan region to support education & our climbing community. Specifically, we Donate to the Tendi Sherpa Foundation, that works to provide infrastructure & access to education in remote areas of Nepal. They are currently working on building a trail from the rural village of Khembalung to the main city of Katmandu. This will allow easier access for supplies (life food & medicine) & education. We also support our climbing community by providing much needed gear to the Nepali mountaineers that work in the Himalaya as guides and porters.

Our Story
HIMALI™ was founded in 2014 by Dave Schaeffer and legendary 18 time Everest summiteer and IFMGA climbing guide, Tendi Sherpa. They crossed paths at the base of Aconcagua (the highest peak in South America) and quickly formed a lasting relationship built on mutual respect, shared positivity, and long days at basecamp waiting for the weather to clear. Born from this international friendship came HIMALI, a brand that creates premium mountaineering apparel and gives back to the Nepali community.
