Real Customer Feedback

Want to hear what customers have to say about their experience with the Eclipse Sun Hoodie?

“Breathable summer staple. I bought this specifically because it was supposed to be one of the lightest and most breathable, and it did not disappoint! I never want to leave home in the Summer (I live in Denver) without this. 100% essential for SUP, but also hiking on exposed trails, etc. It is so small, that I like to keep it on me when I am out in the city as well, if I end up being in the sun longer, or if my sunscreen wears off, I can pull this over whatever I am wearing, and it covers my head, neck and ears as well.” - Andrew, ExpertVoice Review

“Great hoodie. Fits well, comfortable, and lightweight. High quality as expected of Himali. I have used this for hiking on high-UV exposure days and it provides good protection. Have also used it for sun protection while walking along the beach.” - Edward, Expert Voice Review

“Game Changer Above Treeline” - Margaret, ExpertVoice Review

“The perfect weight. I have been looking for this type of fabric for a while and was happy to finally find it. The grid pattern is lightweight and much more breathable than traditional UPF fabrics. This shirt also covers up my neck better than others and the hood is more fitted for windy days yet stretches to go over my trucker cap. The fit is true to size. One downside of this fabric list that it can snag easily, so not the best to wear scrambling through brush.” - Diana, ExpertVoice Review

“I have had two of these sun hoodie for over 2 years now. They have been used for lots of mountaineering trips, backcountry skiing, rock climbing and any other activity. The hoods have great coverage, over or under a helmet, and a great neckline that doesn't feel suffocating or too exposing. Lightweight soft material that wicks well. The biggest reason I just bought 3 more, they fit my insanely long arms! Thanks Himali for my favorite sun shirts!” - Jamie, ExpertVoice Review

“So light! My wife and I had our shirts arrived in time for a desert camping trip in Southern Utah. It was incredibly comfortable and hardly felt like I was wearing anything. I've worn other sun shirts in that environment and this is the coolest I've felt, with sleeves down and hood up. I liked it so much I'm actually ordering another one right now in a brighter color so I'm more visible when paddle boarding. “ - David, ExpertVoice Review

“Spectacular Sun Hoodie Over the past couple years I have been trying to be better about sun protection and decided to try out this hoodie. It is really soft and lightweight and the hood aspect wraps around your neck comfortably with great coverage so sun doesn't get through!” - Bianca, ExpertVoice Review

“Perfect hiking layer. A great layer for fall or hiking. It’s thin, yet strong. Not to mention stylish!” - Doyle, ExpertVoice Review

“Great piece. This is my second sun hoodie from Himali. I basically lived in my first one while climbing in Alaska. Great lightweight piece that dries quick and I love the colors. The thumb loops aren't really necessary but don't get in the way. The hood size is just right and doesn't cover up your eyesight. Fabric is soft and seems to hold up well to use.” - Daniel, ExpertVoice Review

“Nice design, excellent cooling fabric. I am kind of a fan of sun hoodies. The various offerings out there all have their own pros and cons. For the Himali Eclipse, I have had a lot of experience with it (Himali's generous policy helps with that)! It is my go-to for alpine climbs and 14ers here in Colorado. Although it might be a bit more delicate than some other brands' current offerings, the fabric is the best at keeping one cool from the hot sun, there is no seam on top of your shoulder for packs to rub raw, there is a color for whatever your mood is today (with plenty of lighter-colored options for the blazing high-altitude sun), and there is a little tiny pocket out of your way for a house key when you go for a run. The hood of the M and L is just big enough to encapsulate an XL sized head with climbing helmet. I love the sleeves, sleeve hems, and the tab for your thumb: they cover your hands comfortably, and when you pull the sleeves up, it doesn't cut off circulation to your forearms and hands.” - Fred, ExpertVoice Review

“The perfect sun shirt. Used it on the Grand Canyon for 3 weeks. Bought another as soon as I got home!” - Rachel, ExpertVoice Review
